Sanshou - Sparring

Thursdays 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Sanshou is non-stop point sparring, at higher levels it is full contact, but we don't train at full contact during the course of our normal Thursday Class.

Our fights are fun and controlled while still be sparring matches. If people loose their temper the fight is stopped and we move on to the next pair, but that very rarely happens. Control is our highest goal, please feel free to watch the video to the right for a sample of some of our fights. As you can see there are no exessive hits, everyone is wearing appropriate safety gear and we're all having a good time.

Sanshou for us is about having fun and getting a real good workout, we go into our matches to win, but not to hurt.

Sanshou is open to all of our students at no extra cost. Feel free to come in and observe a class or participate, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Conditioning Day in Sanshou

These videos were all shot in a single one hour session. There were only four of us that day so we traded the weighted vest and weighted shorts around. One person would wear both, then fight a two minute round, have a thirty second break, fight a two minute round against a new opponent, have a thirty second break and then fight a final 2 minute round against another new opponent, then the weighted vest and shorts would trade to the next person. So throughout the video you can see different levels of exhaustion in the fighters. It was a great day, lots of fun fights and it was thoroughly exhausting... Please enjoy...
